ArtsFund Supports Education

ArtsFund support helps children learn and grow through arts education programs provided by nonprofit arts groups.  ArtsFund grant recipients provide more than 200 education and outreach programs, reaching more than 600,000 school-age children and adults. When integrated with a school’s curriculum, the arts can help students learn many other subjects as well as helping them develop their own creativity, problem solving, teamwork, communication skills and self esteem. Often, experiences with the arts reach students when nothing else can.

A number of ArtsFund’s larger corporate donors direct additional contributions to arts education through our comprehensive grant-making process (they include Bank of America, Comcast, The Clowes Fund, WaMu and Wells Fargo). Through that process, committee members learn about the education programs of all applicants. The committee then awards arts education funds to the organizations whose programs most closely meet the interests of the donors.
