Where Your Money Goes

Contributions to ArtsFund provide general operating support to 69 nonprofit arts groups within King and/or Pierce Counties (donors direct their funds to one or both counties).  The range of supported groups is broad in terms of size and disciplines.  General operating funds are the most flexible, and therefore most valuable, of donated funds received by arts groups.  And though ArtsFund grants are unrestricted, the dollars are not unaccounted for because the ArtsFund grant application is extensive, and our Committees’ annual interviews are probing and thoughtful.   ArtsFund grants help keep ticket prices as low as possible, increase access to the arts for all, and enable outreach touring and children's education programs. Expeditors

Expeditors' positioning line is, "You'd be surprised how far we'll go for you." Peter J. Rose, Expeditors' Chairman and CEO, must consider this his personal mantra, at least judging by the level of his engagement as a member of the ArtsFund Board of Trustees. Pete, as he prefers to be called, co-chaired ArtsFund's annual campaigns 2002 and 2003, playing a key role in making over $5 million in grants possible in those two years. Since Pete began his involvement with ArtsFund in 1999, gifts from the company and personal gifts from he and his wife, Julie, total just shy of half a million dollars. Leadership by example and leadership through action have earned Pete Rose and Expeditors their place in this donor spotlight and the gratitude of everyone who works within and loves Seattle's nonprofit arts organizations.
