ArtsFund announced that Michael Greer has been selected as ArtsFund’s new President and CEO following an extensive national search. Mr. Greer has been Executive Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre since 2017. As a former professional dancer and experienced executive, Greer’s leadership experience spans both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. He will assume his position on June 8, 2020.

ArtsFund releases new data from a recent survey assessing the early impacts of COVID-19 on arts and cultural nonprofits in the Central Puget Sound Region. ArtsFund’s findings highlight the impacts to three key operational areas–finance, programming, and workforce–and offer data on both immediate and anticipated impacts.

A coalition of arts organizations, led by ArtsFund, is working to launch the COVID-19 Arts Emergency Relief Fund. ArtsFund created the COVID-19 Arts Emergency Relief Fund to help stabilize the sector with immediate relief grants for arts organizations negatively impacted by COVID-19. Arts organizations are bracing for worst case scenarios which could include closure, bankruptcy and insolvency. The goal of ArtsFund’s COVID-19 Arts Emergency Relief Fund is to enable arts and cultural organizations to maintain essential functions and retain core staff throughout the current public health crisis so that they are positioned to reopen when possible.
