Programs and Initiatives

In complement to our grantmaking, ArtsFund presents a variety of leadership and advocacy programs to strengthen arts organizations, educate and empower nonprofit leaders and volunteers, and advance dialogue on the critical impact of arts and culture. We also play a leadership role in broader initiatives that foster the future of the arts in the Central Puget Sound region.

ARTSFUND SUPPORTS EDUCATION

ArtsFund support helps children learn and grow through arts education programs provided by nonprofit arts groups. ArtsFund grant recipients provide more than 200 education and outreach programs, reaching more than 600,000 school-age children and adults. When integrated with a school’s curriculum, the arts can help students learn many other subjects as well as helping them develop their own creativity, problem solving, teamwork, communication skills and self esteem. Often, experiences with the arts reach students when nothing else can.

ArtsFund asks grant applicants for thorough information on their education programs for children and adults. The quantity and quality of each group’s efforts, in consideration with their means, is one of the attributes the Allocations Committee considers when awarding a grant.
