Raynier Institute & Foundation to be Inaugural Lead Partner in power2give.org/PugetSound

ArtsFund Identifies the Raynier Institute & Foundation as Inaugural Lead Partner in power2give.org/PugetSound

Seattle, WA – ArtsFund President & CEO Mari Horita announced today that the Raynier Institute & Foundation has awarded a $200,000 grant to ArtsFund to provide inaugural matching funds for power2give.org/PugetSound, an online cultural marketplace utilizing technology to create a direct connection between donors and projects about which they are passionate.

ArtsFund will launch power2give/PugetSound on October 1, 2013. The site will provide an ongoing online platform for King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish County 501(c)3 arts and culture organizations to expand their giving base and to post and promote projects in need of funding. Posted projects will represent the broad scope of the regional arts sector.

As the founding matching sponsor and inaugural lead partner of power2give/PugetSound, the Raynier Institute & Foundation is providing $200,000 to be used as matching funds, incentivizing donors by matching their online contributions. $100,000 will be available as matching funds on the October 1 launch date, with the remaining $100,000 to be released over the first 18 months following the launch.

“We are excited to bring the power2give program to the Puget Sound region,” said Ed Gardner, Member of the Raynier Board of Directors. “It is our hope that the program will motivate many to donate to all the worthy groups that will be represented on this new platform.”

“While ArtsFund is committed to continue providing critical general operating support and maintaining the integrity and accountability of our grant allocations process, we are excited by the ways in which this online platform can adapt to evolving trends in fundraising and make giving to the arts more accessible,” Horita stated. “This grant will enable ArtsFund to help arts groups reach thousands of new donors, generate a new stream of revenue for the local arts sector, increase the organizational capacity of arts organizations, reach out to underserved communities and new organizations and help arts groups better tell their own stories. Raynier’s contribution will have a huge impact on the Puget Sound community and we are deeply grateful for this catalytic investment.”
