ArtsFund is hosting internationally renowned arts management expert Michael Kaiser on March 16th for a convening with ArtsFund Cultural Partners and members of their boards of trustees.

Building upon his research and decades of experience, Mr. Kaiser will explore the major challenges facing arts and cultural organizations, and offer national models and strategies of how arts organizations are meeting those challenges and building their audiences and donor bases. His talk will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Seattle Repertory Theater Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann.

Michael Kaiser is Chairman of the Devos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland. He was President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from January 2001 through August 2014, and is the Kennedy Center’s President Emeritus. Prior positions include: Executive Director of the Royal Opera House, Executive Director of American Ballet Theatre, and Executive Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Foundation.

He is the author of eight books, including: Curtains? The Future of the Arts in America (2015). Mr. Kaiser received his Master’s degree in management from M.I.T.’s Sloan School of Management and his Bachelor’s degree in economics magna cum laude from Brandeis University.
